1969 FORD TALLADEGA

In 1969, Ford created the Talladega, naming it after NASCAR’s newest superspeedway at the time. The Talladega was built as a more aerodynamic version of the Torino with the intent of making Ford more competitive in NASCAR. These super aerodynamic beasts blew away their competition, including the Dodge Charger 500, and won 26 Grand National races along with the manufacturer and driver (David Pearson) championships during the 1969 season. Actually, Talladegas finished first, second, third and fourth in championship points that year.

In all, roughly 750 Talladegas were produced for sale to the public, with only three different color options: Wimbledon White, Presidential Blue, or Royal Maroon. The cars came out of the factory with a 428 Cobra Jet 335 HP engine and C-6 automatic transmission.

The rare, blue 1969 Ford Talladega before you was purchased by Ray Evernham in 2012 and is one of only 199 Presidential Blue models ever built.
